The Philosophy of Washington University Clinical Associates - Northwest Pediatrics
Washington University Clinical Associates - Northwest Pediatrics is a practice dedicated to the care of children at every stage of their growth from birth through adolescence.  We strive to provide a medical home for each child, teaching healthy choices that will last a lifetime.  We also pride ourselves in providing excellent care for kids when they are sick, with the support and collaboration of the premier hospitals and specialists in the St. Louis area.  Since we think it is important for us to be your child's doctor from the very beginning, we visit all of our newborns and their parents in our affiliated hospitals beginning on day one, and remain involved with their care if they are ever admitted to the hospital as a result of illness.

Our Doctors, Nurses and Staff
Our practice consists of board-certified pediatricians and nurse practitioners. Pediatric nurse practitioners are registered nurses who have received extensive education in pediatrics. This enables them to administer well-child care and to manage common childhood illnesses. The staff nurses who answer your phone calls, check your child in for office visits, and administer vaccinations all have experience in a variety of pediatric and OB settings. All of our physicians enjoy teaching medical students and pediatric residents, and you may have the opportunity to participate in this process occasionally when you meet a physician in training from St. Louis Children’s Hospital or other area programs in our office.

Bob Hoffman, MD
Bob HoffmanDr. Hoffman has been in practice for 32 years. He earned a BS from the University of Illinois Champaign in 1972, MD from St. Louis Univeristy 1976, and completed his pediatric residency at Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital. He greatly enjoys his patients and families, many of whom are second generation. Watching so many children grow from infancy to adulthood is very fulfilling. He would like to think that he did some good along the way with his advice.

Dr. Hoffman is very interested in childhood safety issues. He was the sponsor of the first bike helmet law in the state of Missouri in the City of Creve Coeur. He hopes to continue practicing for many more years and still enjoys coming to work every day.

Kevin Murphy, MD
Kevin MurphyMy name is Kevin John Joseph Murphy. I have had the pleasure of working with children for my entire medical career. It is very important to me that we teach them respect for themselves and others with a drive towards contentment in the life choices they make. With this in mind my approach in the office is holistic and based on anticipation of developmental and health issues. At all times the child is the center of the discussion and is encouraged to bring and ask questions about their own health. Each child is a gift to our world.

My interests center on my wife Rene, our nine children and tending to our century old home and its garden. Alabama football has a hold on my attention in the fall.
